7/3-7/5 First Weekend in Pingtung

First weekend in Pingtung! How did we spend it?

7/3 Friday:

After two flights and a four-hour drive from Taipei, we officially made it to Pingtung! We’re so thankful to God for safe travels and incredibly grateful to Pastor Lin and his team for warmly welcoming us and picking us up from the airport. After settling into our hotel, we took some time to prepare for a meaningful and productive weekend of ministry ahead.

7/4 Saturday

Today was a day full of camp preparation! We started the morning by praying over the camp, our team, and the children with Pastor David Lin. He also led us through a fun personality assessment that helped us learn more about one another. Our team is made up of lions, beavers, otters, and golden retrievers—each bringing unique strengths to the team! *wink wink*

Afterward, we spent the day serving around the church by cleaning, organizing, and getting everything ready to welcome the kids on Monday. We’re excited to see all that God has in store and can’t wait to meet the children!

Our beautiful walk to the church in the morning (don't be fooled from the pictures... it is hot!!!)

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a nice dinner with some of the church members! In addition to our bento boxes, we got to enjoy 盐酥鸡 yan su ju (Richard's favorite), and Taiwan's infamous fruit (it lived up to the hype).

7/5 Sunday

Today was another great day in Pingtung! We started the morning by worshiping at Pingtung Bilingual Church and hearing a wonderful message from Pastor David, followed by a delicious lunch together.

In the afternoon, we continued preparing for camp before heading out for a team dinner at a pho restaurant with five-star service—thanks to the cutest puppy. We wrapped up the evening by treating ourselves to some absolutely delicious Taiwanese bingsu!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We’re so excited to see what God has in store as camp begins tomorrow!

  1. We are very encouraged to see how you are settling in and serving the church there! May God answer your prayers abundantly! We are remembering you (and envying you for the food!)--may God speak to the children you serve, their families and to your whole team as well! From Chris & Michelle, Tobyn & Jadon
