Week 2 Camp Kickoff!
This week has gone by so quickly—I can’t believe we’re already halfway through our second week!
This week, we have 20 students ranging from ages 7–13. With more older students in this group, the dynamic is a little different from last week, but it has been so amazing to see how each child is uniquely created by God. Many of the students are also more advanced in English, so we’ve been able to increase the difficulty of our English curriculum and challenge them in new ways.
Our themes this week have been “God Created Everything” on Monday and “I’m God’s Masterpiece” on Tuesday. Through these lessons, the kids are learning that each of them is created in God’s image and that He has a unique plan and purpose for their lives. They are learning that God’s love surpasses any worldly love we can experience and that we can always turn to Him for everything we need.
It has also been incredible to see our team grow together in unity and how each day becomes smoother as we serve alongside one another. During team devotions each morning, we continue to pray for unity, humility, and the ability to love each other the way God loves us. Every team member brings unique strengths and gifts, and our team would not be complete without each person. We are also incredibly thankful for the team at PBC and their dedication to serving the children, our team, and the church with so much love.
Please continue to pray for energy and strength as we finish out this week, as well as health and safety for everyone involved. Most importantly, please pray that the hearts of the children would be softened and that they would encounter God in a meaningful way. Pray for transformation in the hearts of these children, their families, and the people of Taiwan. We pray that this week would plant seeds of faith that continue to grow long after we leave.
Praying that the camp went well! The Image of God is so foundational to how we treat one another and see ourselves! (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 9:6, Matthew 25:40, James 3:8-12) Stay healthy and well!
